Classification of bipolar forceps
Bipolar forceps are used, among others, in neurosurgery for the manipulation and coagulation of blood vessels. Therefore, they are products in accordance with Rule 6 of the Directive 93/42/EEC intended for use in direct contact with the central nervous system and have to be classified as

risk class III.

The sale of these products requires the issue of an EC design examination certificate received by Bissinger on 22 March 2010.
